Hi, my name is Jim Fowler.
My partner, Bill Bergren and I are starting City
of the Angels Music, a new website for the Southern
California jazz community. We want it to be more than just a club directory.
We want to gear it toward musicians,
fans, students and educators. We're starting small
and we hope to have a little something for
everyone.
Many of you know mefrom the seven years when I was compiling the jazz listings for the Los Angeles Times Calendar section. For most of that time, I used to regularly list between 100 and 150 jazz events per week. Unfortunately due to current economic conditions, the Times no longer devotes that much space to jazz.
Bill and I would like your imput on what kind of features you would want
in a jazz community website. Listings, feature articles on clubs and artists,
reviews of albums and performances, audio and video podcasts are all in
the works. Use our new comment page or drop us an email.
